Man's Best Friend Released

Yes, the time is finally here. After 5 months of work, I can finally release what I consider to be my best film so far, Man's Best Friend.

YouTube link

I'll try and get a film page with download links up soon. In the mean time, sit back and enjoy the longest film I have ever made.

In other news, I have decided to drop out of the Comedy and Plots (CAP) competition. I have done this mainly because I am sick of having deadlines for my films, and I want to put some effort into Customer Service, and make it the best film it can be. I have started a production blog for the film, which I will try to update every now and again.

Slight site change

I've done a bit of a layout change to the site, moving the links to all the pages over to the left. Hopefully now it is easier to navigate through the site.

In other news, I am finally done filming Man's Best Friend. I'm now starting to put together the final film, which is awesome. Honestly, I think this is going to be my best film yet by far, and I can't wait to release it next Sunday.

Man's Best Friend Trailer

Yesterday, I released a trailer for my upcoming film Man's Best Friend. Here it is. As for how the actual film is going, I'm probably going to finish filming either tonight or tommorrow. Editing shouldn't take me very long, since I've been editing as I've been going. If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to release it next Sunday, June 29th. It will be an entry into the FAR competition, but after that, I am leaving brickfilms.com for good. There has simply been too much crap going on at that site for me to continue visiting.

After Man's Best Friend, comes an even tougher challenge: making Customer Service by July 1st, which is the deadline of the Comedy and Plots (CAP) contest, which I plan to enter it into. I haven't even started building the sets, so it will be close. If I don't get it in by the contest deadline, I will still finish the film, however.

One more thing. A few months ago, I started a webcomic, called "Blob World". It was only a few weeks ago, that I decided to make an actual site, and here it is! I update the comic every other day, so if you're looking for some Munzapoppic (thanks to bricksinmotion.com member Bastetta for inventing that word) humor while new films aren't being released, look there.

You're not going to be Welcomed to Paradise

That's right, folks. I've decided to cancel Welcome to Paradise. The reason is that I simply don't have the patience to wait until probably Mid July to start filming this again. Even then, I'm not sure if I'd get the entire thing filmed by the start of the school year in September. Plus, I've really lost motivation to continue working on it. It's really just a weight hanging on me that I really don't want. Also, it most of the film was going to be a montage of random, mostly unconnected scenes, and I've been having a hard time coming up with ideas for the separate scenes.

But, I am going to make a different Green Day music video this summer, this time set to the song "Redundant". It will probably take a lot less time to film, since it's not going to have as many sets as Welcome to Paradise was going to have. It's also a shorter song, which is good.

Hope your Mother's Day didn't Go Bad

I made a new film, for Mother's Day, as a present to my mom. You can see the film here, on YouTube. I will try to get a film page up soon. Other than that, things are continuing as planned in the last update. I might also release a montage clip soon.

Catching up

Hello. Just thought I'd let you know what's been happening in the studio, since I haven't updated in a few weeks. For starters, I am continuing to film Man's Best Friend. I have made the decision that if I get the film done in time, I am going to enter FAR (Frendships and Rivalries, the contest that I started making this film for). Right now, I'm in the middle of working on the second of four scenes, and I've got a little over a month left to finish (unless an extension is made, which seems probable).

I'm also scripting a few other films, including Customer Service, and an epic Western film, which will take place entirely on a train. This film isn't going to be made for a long while, because I've got other projects, and every now and then, my life gets in the way. Customer Service is the film I am going to start filming immediately after production of MBF is complete, and I expect it to be released in early July.

If you're wondering what's happening with my music video, Welcome to Paradise, it's still on production hiatus. However, after MBF and Customer Service are finished, I do intend to dedicate a large chunk of my summer vacation to getting this project filmed. It's been about 7 months since I started it, and I really want to see it get finished by the end of this year. I hope that I can do it.

One last thing of note: Recently, a community project has started on ilovebrickfilming.com (BTW, speaking of community projects, I dropped out of Project Super, due to lack of motivation, and wanting to focus on my personal brickfilming projects). Anyways, this new community project is going to be a montage of iconic film scenes, recreated in brickfilms. I intend to participate in this, and I've got a few scenes in mind.

That's all for now. I won't have any more brickfilms coming out for a couple of months, but I promise it will be worth it.

The criminal had an untimely misunderstanding

Well, as promised, I have two new films for you. The first one, called Criminal Misunderstanding, which is my official THAC 5 entry, can be seen here. The second film, Untimely Interruption, can be seen here. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to make any THACumentaries, since they interfered with making my films.

I also plan on redesigning the film page, so I'm not going to make film pages for them until everything is set up.

New film(s)... coming next week!

Well, the first round of THAC 5 has completed, and I successfully entered, with my second longest brickfilm ever. However, I am not allowed to post it online anywhere until next Sunday. This is so that the contest could be fair to the people who are participating in the second round of the competition next Saturday. Speaking of which, I plan to make another film for THAC next weekend, but since Spring Break is over, I might not be able to. But, you will be treated to at least one new film next Sunday.

New film coming soon!

Well, THAC 5 was just announced (officially, I've known about it for several weeks now) today. I am extremely excited, because I will be able to use the entire 24 hour time frame for  the first time ever. Expect a new film  this Sunday, and maybe even a THACumentary (a video documenting my THAC expierience, if you don't know what that means).

EDIT: Actually, this year, THAC is going to be on two separate days, due to a controversy over the host announcing the contest too close to the start date. We're allowed to make films on both days, so you might just see two new films from me soon. Which also means two THACumentaries. Awesome.

A much needed update

If you visit this site, you probably also visit brickfilms.com, and have seen the insane amount of chaos that has gone on in the past few days with the abrupt change in administration. You might have also seen my post, in which I state that I am leaving brickfilms.com and going to a new brickfilming site that has been formed, and that I am also dropping out of FAR, the competition that I am making Man's Best Friend for. I have made this update to tell you that even though I am dropping out of the contest, and leaving brickfilms.com, I will still continue on with all of my projects, including Man's Best Friend. Even though, in my opinion, brickfilms.com has just gone down the toilet (metaphorically speaking), I will still brickfilm, and release new films on a regular basis.
